Beware of COVID-19 Fraud Schemes and Scams
U.S. Attorneys’ offices around the nation have issued fraud alerts relating to the coronavirus health crisis.
Examples of these scams include:
- Offers to sell fake cures and treatments,
- Seeking donations for illegitimate or non-existent charitable organizations, and
- Identity theft resulting from COVID-19 related phishing emails.
Please be on the lookout for suspicious activity and report any instances of fraud to the COVID-19 Pandemic Fraud Hotline, 202-252-7022 and USADC.COVID19@usdoj.gov.
